Consider An Inspection Before Placing Home On Market

Homeowner, before putting your home up on the market, have you considered having a home inspection? Or, after selecting a Realtor®, has the Realtor® suggested doing a home inspection and, maybe, you thought it a waste of money? Give it more than a passing thought.

Having your own inspection will:

- make you aware of problem areas

- give you the opportunity to address issues

- prepare you for what the buyer may find as problems

- documentation for any items that you have had repaired

- re-evaluate sale price to reflect repairs needed that were not done

This inspection may save you the loss of potential buyers (buyers seeing problem areas at time of showing that helps them eliminate your home from their “want” list), money (buyer offers a price at a high reduction based on their opinion of the cost of repairs) or time (buyer finds problems in their own inspection and requires repairs to be made before any further progress on the purchasing process).

With the current real estate market, any advantage that you puts your home above the others is well worth the $300-$365 cost. Make it more than a passing thought.
